The LaGrange College campus garden started as a project of the Sustainability Council.
A few faculty members decided a hands-on opportunity for students to engage in working and nurturing some locally grown food would be a valuable way to connect sustainability and academic work.
Students, faculty and staff have all supported and benefited from healthy and sustainable vegetables that the garden shares with the college community. In addition, food is often shared with some of our local soup kitchens, including the student-run “Our Daily Bread.”
The garden also has been integrated into biology, language and religion courses.
